No not at all, it wears real even. I use it primarly in the tip elbows, deck elbows, and the transition. How long are your tip elbows lasting if you are pouring really wet slumps? I am in the mountain region of Colorado.

Tracy, We are thinking about getting some of this stuff. So you really think it is worth the money? Sounds good. I am just verifying that you use the nordbak wearing compound not the Nordbak

Yes Mike I believe that it is worth the $. There is alot of risk in using hard sueface rod or wire on cast products anymore. Because if you do not preheat cast just right then lay in hard surface inside a elbow you will have the chance of that elbow blowing out and cracking if you were to plug up and put undo pressure against it. So this is my answer to replacing the time and labor of hard surfacing. Plus this is alot safer, just remember to use latex gloves this stuff is toxic and will eat the skin off your hands! :) :)

Sparky, There are ceramic tiles that may be set in epoxy inside of your elbows. I like the hexagonal tiles the best. They seem to conform to the inside radius very well. The trick is to have as little of the epoxy as possible come into contact with the concrete. OR You can use the tiles, loosley and fill in the spaces with the ceramic bebe epoxy. I sold an old 801 Schwing transition with this system and it lasted the company that purchased it for YEARS AND YEARS. The thing about ceramics is that it will chip if the edges are not protected. Because of that, Conforms has gone with the dual wall elbows that are lined with WOODPECKER LIPS. And as we all know, nothing is as hard as a woodpecker lip!! :p1800-223-3676 - The place to buy elbows that last & last. This message was edited by Bob on 3-10-06 @ 9:45 AM
