Does anyone have any info on a company that was based in Houston, TX named Western American? I am interested in a pump they made named the W-65.

Any info would be appreciated!

Wow does that bring back memories!  Randy Evenson (spelling) was partner with George Brock (owned Hercules Concrete Pumping) in developing the original Western American Pumps.  I think Randy and His brother are still involved in Pumping somewhere in Texas.

WOW...!!!   That brings back memories !!  I was working there when Randy built the Western America pumps. They actually put Randys valve on the ass end of a "gate-valve" Schwing at one time.  Randy onened up a little shop not far from George's shop in South Houston !!   Hercules is where it all started for me, back in 1978...I've been doing it ever since.

broke the w65 down today to look at the mud cups................they are doubled up 6 " mud cups like the ones out of a p30 or p88 ballvalve, just 2 of them back to back.  one other intresting point was that the dog bone in the water box was held to the mud cup by 2 grooved end or "vic" clamps .im replaceing them with the bolt together type with lock nuts.  all in all im happy with the simple way this thing was built. i know it will never be a 70,000 putz or schwing,  i have one of those  .  as i tinker around with my #2  i am most pleased with it.
