My main position in the company I work for is to pump concrete, which unfortunately is not an everyday occurance. On the days that I don't have any pumping I could find my self doing other jobs like, driving a truck, floating equipment, operating excavators, dozers, loaders, or just in the shop bending wrenches. Does anyone else have a job like this, or is pumping your one and only thing?

The company that I work for is a road builder. They have me do lots of stuff other than pump cause just like slinger said pumping is not an everyday thing right now.I drive a counterweight truck for our crane division, drive concrete mixers, flatbeds, dumptrucks, tankers.Thats the good thing about the company I work for,the bad thing is the whole company is not doing much.If we were only a pump company we would be in bad shape.Last week we only had 3 little jobs for 4 pumps.

I primarily pump mud but, also do my mechanics and maintenance. I also drive cranes when my boss needs to do crane work and, sometimes I rig as well. Yeah the hours have been sucking lately but, that is how it is now and, I can live with that reality. Our company sold a line pump to one of my contractors and, I do his maintenance as well and, will be operating his pump Monday for him. His operator is on vacation which is good for me.
