Very true, the rest of the world does require a simpler format. KISS. |

In Canada we have the worst of both worlds. Our country is officially 'metric' but everyone has to learn 'imperial' to be able to actually work in the trades. All of our concrete is billed out in meters but ordered in yards by the contractors. We've run short/ had way too much on a few jobs because of miscommunications between customers, salesmen and the plant. |

We don't have any trouble understanding our measurements. |

So no problem if you would be alone on the planet No just kidding.. I think its ok the way it is. It has its charme. In england they also have different system. Its like a different language. Once you learn it its no problem. But you must admit the metric system is easyer to understand and remember isn't it? So if they would ever dicide the whole world should use the same system it would be easyer if we all moved to the metric system.. |

Its not that I have a problem whit understanding. But calculating seems to me as a hell. For example a small slab of 10 by 10 feet 10 inches thick is how many yards. In metric that makes 3*3*.25=2.25m3 out of my had |

its not a problem for us at all, same as if I came over there i would learn your system , oh I already have they taught us that in school, our way works fine for us, but we still order to much concrete or not enough. Its just the way the world goes around. |
