hey mate sweet pxt sounds like you are doing a bit down there,i am down at sydney at the moment. get some more pxt of your rigs up. hey got any pxt of the boom on the ground.

hey many not a good answer to a pump tipping over, rig looks good, so that means everything is good. as long as that front bumper is not scratch the boom will be straight ready to go over guys heads tomorro.

An excellent response, nobody hurt and perhaps a lesson learned. If just one soul learns (besides operator) it has served it's duty. Now my question

Should a pump be reinspected after an incident such as this? They do it on cranes, yes they do.Would this not be a good requirment?

Mr wibau 12-28-2009

i say yes, with the impact of what the boom would of made hitting the ground yes it should.

To answear Many's question "Should a pump be reinspected after an incident such as this?"

Answear:Yes it should be inspected, specially the right hand side of the truck and all of the boom if it hit the ground. Which my guess it did.

On a personal note this accident was %100 preventable But I would be hard pressed not to laugh at the operator had I personally witnessed this . Glad to hear no one was injured , that made it just that much more funny to me . Haha

Anyone that would put a outrigger on a box culvert knowingly has no business operating a concrete boom truck, it seems as this industry comes back up maybe we should look at a few educational tools that other industries such as cranes do, proper dunnage techniques , there are such programs that should be looked at before certification , just knowing the concrete pump isnt enough as professionals we have to know many things and not putting a outrigger on such things as box culverts has to be one of them.

well said Pudg, from what I can gather the "big boys" in pumping have faught hard to prevent boom pumps from being classified as cranes  due to operating costs. And when times are lean like they are now no one will budge when it come to more expense for safety and training .

What Im wondering is why he sisnt move forward or back. Seemed to have plenty of room in either direction. Though I might be a bit dense.

PUMPCON 12-30-2009

They moved the precast sump under the outrigger to get more height(you can still see the pallet under the sump) instead of using proper dunage. The boom stayed pretty straight for a jun jin.The boom got a full inspection from jun jin before it went back to work.

hey pumpcon, who looked at it slowcrete or jun jin.
