This no double ended tip hose campaign needs a slogan for the hardhat stickers. We want to know what you, as members, want it to be. We all pretty much agree that we need to stop this practice as a start in the battle against hose whipping incidents and accidents.

So what do you say? What do you want on the stickers?

Just a few slogans that came to mind. remember also, to clear the area of discharge of personnel when starting up the pump after a period of no pumping. Air sometimes gets trapped in the pipeline of a boom and will create a hazard when it gets to the end.

Pro/Pour/Promise:

Be Professional, Don't Pour with a double ended hose, Make that Promise to yourself.

Yeah Bob, I thought about that when reading some ??? todd posted about "Hose whipping" = Whip hose? Most of us know the difference between a whip hose and a "Hose whoopp'n". Some DA could still hang a DE! Though the relation could be a plus. We're not out to stop hose whip'n just yet, We're just make'n sure there aint a metal end on it when it does whip. Reducing the injury/damage potential by 60-70% atleast

Why not just use a picture of a guy getting hit in the chest with a double ended hose hanging from the tip and put one of those red circles with a line through it over the picture.

I have never understood why some DE hoses say "CONCRETE DISCHARGE HOSE" To any safe experienced operator it would make sense that something called a "Discharge-hose" would be what we all call a "whip". A single ended (tip-hose). The double-ended hose should be labeled as a "CONCRETE DELIVERY HOSE" and we should start refering to our "Whips" as "DISCHARGE-HOSES" This would Eventually eliminate any association with HOSE WHIP and WHIP HOSE!

It'd take some time but the "whip" could be slowly phased out just like "JIBS" & "STARTER-HOSE" Oh and dont forget "VICTOLIC" Yeeoow Look-out!!!!The next time a younger brother tells ya his "Whip's" wore out. Tell him whips are for the bed room but here's a new "Discharge-hose".Sum'n ta think about

convey the thought and the rule without any

further explanation or question.

Something subtle like

A hose on your nose beats a mace in your face... you know, subtle ;~)

How 'bout If your'e dumb enough to want a double ended hose in you're hands, You probably breathe through your mouth ALL the time.
