What to do to fix a truck full of hardened concrete?

Hello folks.  I'm not an operator, but I was on a site today where the mud in the boom pump got too hard for him to push.  He folded up and left the job with the concrete still inside.  How can that be fixed?  Thanks

Putz makes a high pressure sprayer that can cut concrete out of the pipe. It is always a bad day when something like that happens but it does not have to be a total loss.

In the Trade we call it a boom party.  All available hands and take elbows off and pressure washer all you can get.

In the 90's here and the high humidity sucks. I think I pumped more concrete this week with the tip hose in the hopper recirculating than went into the pours.

The first fix would have been to recirculate and keep an eye on it. Odds are this did not happen. If the mud was still pretty green, he could of put slick pak in the hopper and mix it and also dump some in the tip to work it both ways. It all depends on how hard the concrete was. But should not have gotten that far unless there was a breakdown. Was he taking a nap while waiting for the next truck????

Could be he gave up to quick. I once had a plugg due to simply hardned concrete. Those should not be the worst. a plugg due to rock is much worser. I had to relocate the truck some 100yards and when I came to the next  spot there was no space for me. I didn't suck a ball. Only took a lock at the end. 35 degrees celcius.. After an hour I coukld finaly start pumping again. first there came a 1 meter long cilinder fron the endhose and then nothing. But I called a guy that had much more experiance then me in those days and he said I should just keep pushing. Dont give up. Full rpm and volume and push forward and back. every time I pushed forward the crete came a centimeter further.. After 15min of ramming forward and back there came some sunn through the clouds.. Suddenly it was 10cm at the time and quite soon after I was pumping again. If I would have given up and used 1,5 hours driving through the yard in that heat the result would have been much worse I think..
