When to let it go?

I was speaking with Bob Sanderson tonight. I always appreciate Bobs experience and advice. During our conversation. He mentioned the concept of when to let something go. I thought it was interesting and wanted to share.

Personally, I like to win by default. I am not really a competitive person. When I want something, Such as a concrete pump. I won't quit! On my journey to get a concrete pump. I was insulted numerous x's and should have quit long before it was delivered. For example, I had a guy tell me. Al, you are like a Mexican immigrant that just crossed the border last year. You are trying to borrow more than a quarter of a million dollars! You are swinging for the fence kid. I told him well, that is better than sitting in the stands! Eight months later my pump showed up! Early on during the journey, My broker told me. It ain't over till you quit.

So if I may ask, when do you quit? This question is a general question. I am pursuing another business venture that is really busting my balls! Unfortunately I want it!

Once again Bob, True advice! Our attorney says the city (code officer) is hanging on to pride! Lawyers hang on to facts. The guy that is in my way, I want his job! Today I spoke with the Governors office, Local senator, Local Rep, Local, legislator. We have a problem! When I am done the city's Regimes landscape will be changed. Then I will have a Tavern!

I don't think many concrete pumpers choose the slow, safe ,boring road to old age. Some day you'll look back and say? At least I tried.

Be very careful Seed. I knew a man who had a couple pumps and then bought a bar and the local liquor store... He passed away a few years ago, very sad story. I'd imagine both of his pumps are still out there pumping somewhere? (they were Schwings)

Sometimes our pumps are what keep us responsible and out of trouble, they give us a reason to wake up at 4am instead of falling a sleep at 4am? Beware of the night life brother! Trying to do both is a dangerous game!
