Video graphically shows how concrete pumps can accurately place concrete in even the most inaccessible locations. First, like a giant corkscrew, the auger pile is removed having finally drilled the pile to the correct depth. Camfaud's Putzmeister Elephant concrete pump sets up and the ready mixed concrete arrives. The reinforced steel cages are inserted into the piles. They give the finished subterranean foundation column extra backbone. The long tube with a funnel is a "tremmie" pipe which is inserted into the pile. This will ensure the concrete at the base of the pile is vibrated and compacted into place leaving the minimum amount of air pockets. Having done its job it is then removed and concrete pumping is resumed. |
