A Ready-mix Driver from Cemex told me today I could not pump back into him after finishing the pour.I thought he was joking around , but then he showed me the memo he recieved from management. Just curious if this is a corporate thing or a local deal. There is a small family owned company in the bay area that has been doing this for quite some time now.
3 p.s. Trinity and Tanner wanted to see their picture back up again , for the Dads out there , you can understand. The sound affects they made were so funny, especially Trinity with the tip hose slurping. LOL,LOL.

I had a Cemex (formerly Rinker) guy say that too. I didn't get to see a document, but he said it's in the works. Eco-Pan's gonna love those guys. |

I've had the same experience with Rinker for the past few years now too, but the last time I worked with them was right after Cemex took over and the drivers were letting me. I've also found it depends on the driver, some of them really enjoy the power trip of saying no, while others don't care. It all stems from a driver geting hurt when the hose blew out of the drum pumping back in. |

I've had the hose come out before. I was not going to do it but the driver just said shove it in. Needless to say it did'nt work out for his truck. Normally i would have put on cap and taken it off before putting the reducer all the way in. |

Here in Colorado, there is one mixer company that charges $150 to pump back into them.....
Makes me wonder what we should charge them to wash-out into us.... |

Nate who is the readi mix company that charges in Colorado, we have had the same problem in the past so I cut a deal with the concrete companies that we would let them wash into us if we got to wash back in to them if a wash out was not provided! We are located in summit County, Colorado. |

well if we had pump operators that didnt stick the hose all the way and get caught by the fins(like someone did)we could probably still do that here in dallas... . If the driver knows ya they will usually let u anyway |

Sorry Lee, I have to disagree with you there. The danger comes from not sticking the hose in far enough. With the angle of the hose into the truck it creates a belly so that when the force of the concrete comes out it'll peel it right out of the truck. I've never had a hose get stuck in a drum, they get nicked up a bit but no harm. Bury it to the hair boys. Aint that right OE 3. |

i had a hose (single ended) get caught up in fins that were coming loose in the drum.had to reverse the drum several revs to get it untangled. i put the hose in about ten feet pump the hopperdown then lift it out to see if water is dripping from the hose ,it also helps any rock or sand fall out of the hose then back in the truck for a little more water.i always keep a very close eye on the hose any grunts or hops and i hit the off switch.

My opinion on the safest way to prime, pumpout, or waterwash into a mixer is to simply just take your tip hose off. In our region, our standard hose is a 3 1/2" so this increases the probability of the hose jumping out of the mixer. Why not take the extra safety precaution and simply take off your flexible hose at the end of your boom? |

Down here in Denver, LaFarge charges $150... It depends on the driver, but about %90 stick to the policy....
About %80 percent of the batch plants charge a washout fee if you wash your hopper out.... If they let you washout there at all.... |
