Who makes a more reliable and user friendly boom pump truck? Which one is prefered by pump truck operators? Which one is easyer to work on? What are the pros and cons of owning a Schwing or a Putzmeister? |

It's like asking :
Ford vs Chevy
Volvo vs Scania
Mercedes vs MAN
Libherr vs Manitovoc
RollsRoyce vs Bentley
I think it depends where You live , can You get service ?
One pump or many ?
I have "only" operated Schwing and Putz but I can't tell You witch one is the "best" , sometime I miss My older Schwing pumps....
But if I going to buy My own pump I will buy another brand... One brand to the right >
Even if I think Putz and Schwing are worldleader in pumps... |

Pumbo, count the early Schwings still running compared to the earyl Putz. In my opinion there are still way more Schwings working, post rock valve that is. One must take resale value in as well. Though substaintially less than years ago Schwing still gets more than the rest. |

That race is still on. Top one two products either way in our industry worldwide. |

Oh, My opinion only. Love the people at CIFA and all the pumps will pump concrete for sure. But I would have to put JUN JIN as the number 3 worldwide as far as the product. I think the Jun Jin will stay with either at anytime. Naturally the Alliance partner. Only an opinion. |

Well ,I'm kinda biased here.My first Schwing was a 1201/28 that would flat do anything you asked, with little complaint! And you can MAKE a Schwing do anything you want!! I have a friend who STILL runs a 1984 42m lightweight!. Almost daily! Lets see if theres a Putz still running out there after moving in on a million yards! Anyone??
Not that I have anything against the Putz. Just nothing for it. I'm now running a 38z and haven't had any problems. So as far as that goes, well the jury is still out! Its a sweet enough machine, I just cant relax with it because I don't know enough about it. |

I love Putz's booms but hate their pumpkits. I have operated mostly Schwings and they are built to abuse mud and, to me a lot easier to work on. My 32 is 15 years old and she keeps on giving. Granted if you keep up on the maintenance they will run for ever. We also have a nice old 78" gate up here that still pumps like a champ too when needed. I actually call it Satan because, that was from the days when pumping mud was work. |

Pumper 22 if you are talking quality then it is only a two horse race ,you want to talk price then you can add more horses ,the other mobs make an ok pump and all look great when shiny and new but cant go the distance compared to those two |

Mudslinger... there is an outfit in our area that still operates an early 80's 46M Putz tractor/trailer pump which allegedly has over a million cubic meters through it... Both Putz and Schwing make great machines... I think it's more a matter of preference... Being a big fan of the Z-boom, I choose the blue and white guys... |

I've never ran a Schwing. I would think the Bone possy would have some great insight on the pros and cons of each machine. |

MMmmm well for me I wish you could put both of them together I think Swing has a better outrigger system but a Putz is more user friendly I found On a new Swing 32 if I was running with mud between sites and if I wanted to back stroke it a half stoke at a traffic light it was to much work but with a Putz it took a few seconds. But too me they are both Awesome Pumps.....I would like to try that new 36 Swing.... |

Schwings haven't changed much through the years, A big plus. They have a much better design as far as pump design. Side by side main pumps and two upper pumps. All easy to access and test. Plus all Hydraulic valve functions are very easy to fix and diagnose. Simple relays run the handle valves. Old models and new are very similar. |

Look at the past and present resale prices of all pumps and I think you will find your answer. I might be biased but the pumps we choose have not let us down. |

Schwings are the mechanic and owners pump, built to be rebuilt much easier to work on, the whole rock valve assembly, seals and cutting rings, let alone changing cups. In my personal opinion the 1997-2003 putz's were the cream of the crop. Minus the 20 cell that pump kits' only good for one thing lightweight. I ran a 99 52z with a 16cell that was the smoothest(partly by the 5 section z) and fastest most versitile pump I've had the pleasure of running. Although the extra work on the outriggers for the 58&61 Schwings are so worth the peace of mind for the piece of mind. |
