This was an old Pump owned by Cross Concrete Pumping in florida.

that got the two deiutz 4cyl diesels powering it?

DIGGER 08-19-2013

It sure is a Whiteman, they did come out with dual 6 cylinder Deutz 120 HP. If you count the cylinders, it looks like an original dual 6 cyl model. They were graet pumps, would pump any crap that went in the hopper, only restriction was if the mud would not be a pumpable mix, 4 inch or 5 inch steel line no problem.

It's a shame they went with an S-tube in later years on their booms.

The pump might be about the same age as I am, but I,m pretty sure that is right outside the shop doors at Cross (in Melvindale) where I first met Charles and ended up getting into pumping.

Boom is an old Schwing 28M w/ 800 or 900 pump cell.  Someone added the cab....that is not a factory accessory.

Tank 08-20-2013

Todd

That looks like a Schwing 23 meter with a 801 gate valve on ford 8000

Todd 08-20-2013

You might be right Tank, that is just what I was told by someone.

Mister_Perkins 08-20-2013

oh yeah, I meant 6 Cyl. Deutz engines. My dad used to run one of those trailer pumps back in the day

DIGGER 08-20-2013

Todd, that looks like a Duane O Perrin "Kingcrete" with 8 inch bullet valves. Challange Cook was selling them.

One ended up in Sydney, Australia in the early 70's. Meet with a problem and was left with hard crete in both cylinders.

Looking at the trees and shed in the background ... it maybe the one that came to OZ.

morgan bugle boom

Mudslinger 08-21-2013
reply profile send pm notify

Blue boom is a Whiteman! This kind of unit, as well Thompsen 2001's, were used to pressurewash oil off the rocks after the Exxon Valdses spill! Sending pumps to save the day began WAY before Fucashima!

It's a white an P80 with twin deutz air cooled 6 cylinders, 2 separate pumps, can be ran separately , or together, spade valves with felt seals..ran one for many years

mudd69 08-21-2013

bet those are duetz motors

Many 08-21-2013
reply profile send pm notify

Duetz is correct, yes, twin spade valve. They could pump stop lights, used datsuns or anything else you could get in the hopper. This appears to be one of the newer ones around the time they came out with the swing valve.

Weaver Const bought the 1st swing valve whiteman from rotec (mark montgomery) in La. After there job in Wyo finished it was sold to floyd pettijohn in Denver. What I remember it went to Az and vanished.

Many I believe stone concrete pumping in warren pa, bishop construction owns the old girl now..ran it a few years, a bitch to haul with a 1/2 ton truck and 400 feet of 4 inch line.

when Gary died a few years back I think they might of sold it for scrap, he also had a huge Elba trailer, and a small elba with a deutz 4 cylinder, a Schwing bp 1000, a large Thomson and small Thomson trailers with flapper valves along with 2 33 m elbas, 2 36 meter elbas, a 32 meter Elba a 44 meter Elba that someone ran off the road in louisiana..he bought it from an insurance company and a 42 puts bought from richies auction. A old case boom, and a whiteman boom..it was one hell of a training experience..lol

seen them painting their 29 year old Elba just yesterday..a 33 black and white remote, oil eater..dressing up the turd..lol

Mudslinger 09-01-2013

Thompsen 740's had rack & pinion style slewing. This has Rotec type turret and gravity down main cylinders! Here's a 740.
