Why do they want the pump wide open?

I was on a job today and they wanted the pump wide open. WHY? It makes no sense to me. If you just go half speed it all works out better and it seems to go quicker. Hell I turned it up for them(3/4 volume) and they could not even back up and slump the trucks fast enough. I told them if I slow down we all could get in rythym and it would be smooth sailing. But to each their own I am here to please the customer.

As long as the hose man is safe and you are not tearing up your truck to do it, I get that alot but you can only turn it all the way up under certain conditions without boom bounce,or pressuring out, I try to explain that before I have to show them.

I got this same crap the other day.  Rollin half speed (95-100yds per hr) no bounce, trucks barely keeping up, annoying hose guy not having to work hard...then annoying hose guy asks me to turn it up...

I hear ya bri! Today I'm pumping a slab on grade. I'm boomed all the way out and the job super wants it cranked up with the 5inch hose on. I of course protest for safety. My 39m will bounce from the deck to the top of the hosers head at half speed. I tell the hose man to keep his feet out of the way and do what the customer wants. 5 min later they tell me I was right and ask me to turn it down. When will they learn??? we know whats the best way to run out trucks.

hey brian glad to see you back. the concept of half speed is wide open. they ask me do you not want to get the oil hot, ya something like that. i used to just bury people with my 30 YPH ball pump so then they would start whining.

it takes a big man on the pipe if they want it full volume and by the time the boom has stopped bouncing in a smooth movement the mixer is empty.so as you say what is the point,in one of my videos the second day with my new putz m52 pumping down a shaft nobody on the pipe just mase fill, It was full volume but the the concrete company couldnt keep up so then  you are  waiting a round for concrete, so no one wins you just smash up the pump for no reason

I have yet to see ANYONE that can handle my pump wide open. It is a monster. Rated at 300yrds an hr. I have only had it opened up when I am close to the pump. Even then the trucks can not keep up.
