is it just me or am i the only one that loves my job.....on a daily bases me and other operators come over to drink beer but my girlfriend doesnt mind it but once we get drinkin we start telling pump stories. i have a myspace but 90 percent of the time im on here...(thanks todd) now my girlfreind always tells me stuff because she thinks im addicted to my job"lol" she tells me if i aint working im either talking about it or on here....im posting this to see how many of u all who would reply or view because she doesnt believe that there are people out there like me..so what if i play with pump models and believe they should make a video game about pumping...so how many of you die hard pumpers are out there and ur wife...g/f dont get why we like are job so much.. o ya!!!!!

That's funny.... I do all of that. Pumping is the greatest, even the bad day's are good. How often do you dream about pumping? It's almost every night for me. I have this reoccuring dream that I need to wash up and there is nowhere to do it, then I shut off my alarm and realize that I'm at home and not on the job. One morning I reached over and shook my girlfriend and said..." where can I dump my hopper". She wasn't to happy about that one.

sad but true there boys. i have woken up on a sunday morning and called the dispather on her persoanl phone at 6am to tell her that i over slept. my wife laughed at me for days after that. there is just something about it that is addicting.

LOL I know this beeing a pumpoperator and a single mom.  I had a long day once (16 hours) and was WERY tierd ( pump plugged up). My son asked me for something to eat.  I told him to go and fix us some concrete......  =c)  meent fix us some sandwhish... He did not think it was funny....

O ya, being twenty years old my friends and girlfriend get kinda tired of hearing about pumping concrete. Until they ride along and see what I actually do then they are kind of amazed. What really bugs them is the fact that i remember almost every job i pump. So as we are driving down the road I will point out the jobs I have pumped and sometimes tell a good story to go along with it! They definitely do need a video game. Something a little more affordable and better than Schwings virtual boom. Has anybody tried that before? They need a video game that you have to control the purchases of the equipment and the financials to stay in business. Maybe that would help some of the yahoos out there droppin the prices so ridiculously low!!!

I grabbed my wifes leg one night and said"Don't move,the pins coming out" Yea ,I don't just work this job,man,I LIVE this job! And every once in a while someone will ask if I'm any good at video games,and I have to say "NO,I keep trying not to crash the car,in my job the object is to keep everyone standing up"

I love the job, it's just certain people that run the show that drives me to drink, LOL

so funny i thought i was only pumper that went through almost all that been put up in here. there was a night when i came home drunk after work and my girl freind was felling kind of freasky i guess i was falling asleep when she shook me and said get up and i told her to go grab the bag cement and put it by the pump.heheheh well i dont remember what happend that night but she told me thats what happened.

some kind of simlator would be killer sucks that the company i wark for doesnt have a boom always dream of running one, one day never did befor though.

Well, I can't say that I LOVE the job...mainly due to the high stress factor involved...on both sides of the track, weather I'm pumping or working on a pump. Trying to keep 4 hour old mud alive when your running another guys brand new 32Z boom is one thing, and when you have dispatch calling you, rushing you to get a pump ready for a job in an hour when you just busted open the ass end....and also as MidnightRider mentioned, its always a pain when you have to deal with idiots and slackers on a daily basis. Its kinda funny though, I've always though of this as "just another job", but I find it interesting that I still have family and friends begging me to stop talking about it so much because it isn't interesting to them. I guess its funny how things tend to sneak up on you like that, one day you could care less about it, then before you know it...its taken over your life and you can't, nor do you want to, get it out of your head.

when im running really hard, i'll dream about being on job and turning over pump. never come close to doing it in real life. wife gets tired of me going to the shop on my days off
