CIFA USA finds success in niche markets

In 2009 CIFA USA expanded on its established core business of Concrete Pumping Equipment to include other areas of expertise in the concrete construction industry supported by over 80 years of CIFA worldwide experience.

Tunneling Project Solutions

CIFA’s highly specialized products for heavy civil tunneling and the underground mining industry were introduced with great reception. Leading these new divisions CIFA Formworks provides the Tunneling Industry with more than 80 years experience in creating tailor made formworks and special equipment for all major infrastructure projects worldwide: over 2.800 complete tunnel projects, 300 dams, many viaducts and major protection works have made use of CIFA formworks and special equipments. CIFA’s ability to provide complete product range, from concrete manufacturing, shotcrete equipment to placement systems, offers the tunneling industry unparalleled project solutions.

Portable batching plants

            The introduction of the Compact EZ and Modular Series concrete batch plants to the North American marketplace was met with curiosity by many. Never before has a manufacturer offered a portable wet style batch plant so easy to erect and with so many features. Among them complete galvanization of the structure offers endless protection against corrosion. Targeted for use in the Pre-Cast and Specialized On-Site concrete production both the Compact EZ and Modular product lines are backed by a history of batch plant manufacturing by CIFA since 1950.

Zoomlion America saw 2009 as a year of testing and continued development of its concrete boom and trailer pump units for the North American marketplace. The project goal to provide a world class pumping unit at a competitive level in both performance and costs has been achieved. Attractive design, top brand commercial components and a thoroughly tested pumping unit, is a guarantee of easy use, simplicity and reliability. 

World of Concrete Product showcase - Booth C-6237

Focused on the market needs for value, this year’s product display features a CIFA USA Platinum level concrete boom pump truck from our “Value Plus” division.  The Value Plus division takes previous owned CIFA units and reconditions them by CIFA certified factory technicians to three different standards, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The Platinum unit on display is a fully refurbished CIFA 36 meter concrete pump unit, featuring new CIFA factory pumping components, pipeline, s-valve, hopper and wear parts. CIFA USA provides 6 to 12 months or 1,200 up to 2,400 hours warranty on the Platinum certified units and offers an additional extended warranty and service plan optional.

Back by popular demand is the CIFA 5 section 41 meter. Unique to the industry, the K41RZ is equipped with 235 cubic yards per hour pump kit and complete 5 inch boom pipe. The 5 sections RZ configuration provides maximum flexibility and maneuverability for the ever changing conditions an operator can face on a daily basis.

Another feature found on this unit is our patented pumping hydraulic system designed to delivery full power at ranges of 1,300 to 1,500 engine rpms resulting in lower emissions and fuel consumption.

Standard equipment includes twin wall boom pipe, two radio remotes, quick change cutting ring, dual turret motor drives, high pressure washing system, centralized auto greasing and many more features optional on other machines in this class.

A new remarkable option is the “ABC” electronic system controls boom oscillations. The system senses the boom oscillations, analyzes them, and then effectively eliminates them in real time, both during pumping and boom placement. The “ABC” sets new standards of safety and comfort during concrete pours, guaranteeing reduced stress on the boom, thus extending its life expectancy. This option feature is available on 2010 models.

CIFA USA concrete pumps are built in compliance with ASME (American Society for Mechanical Engineers) B30.27-2009 safety standard.  CIFA USA is proud to be one of the 1^st concrete pump manufactures to achieve this status.

The second generation 40X-4Z Zoomlion is a 4-section 40-meter concrete boom truck unit featuring a newly upgraded concrete pump group with performance required for the harshest concrete mixes.  This unit also utilizes familiar components that customers demand such as Stiebel PTO, Rexroth Hydraulic system, Siemens PLC, Schneider electrical components, HBC remotes, Brevini gear motor and SSAB Swedish Weldox700/900 high strength steel. The 40X-4Z showcases several “standard” features not commonly found on 40 meter class such as a full logic controls and PLC readout monitor on the panel and radio remote, hard faced and carbide wear parts, multi-piece piston cups and high pressure water pump. This unit also incorporates the latest fuel consumption control technology. The SES (Smart Energy System engine RPM logic) senses engine demand and adjusts RPM accordingly for optimum fuel utilization.

Zoomlion is in process of obtaining for the 40 meter class the ASME B30.27-2009 safety standard certification.

What’s new for 2010?  

2010 marks the “New Era” for our group in the American markets. Both CIFA USA and Zoomlion America have fully merged to introduce several new product lines for the construction industry.  

New construction equipment

The Zoomlion Crane, Specialty Vehicles and Earth Machinery divisions for the America’s will headquarter themselves at CIFA USA in Milwaukee Wisconsin under the management of CIFA USA. The Zoomlion QUY heavy construction crane models range from 70 ton to 1000 ton crawler cranes and will be marketed and supported from this location. Several units have been already sold and successfully operated in the market.

The Zoomlion crane product line also includes diesel, electric tower cranes, seaport, and on and off road crane units. The Specialty Vehicles division provides both aerial platforms and truck mounted hydraulic cranes. The Earth Machinery Division produces drilling rigs and earth moving equipment.

CIFA/Zoomlion USA organization will be properly strengthened in order to manage professionally multiple product lines.  

            New Concrete Pumps

CIFA Concrete Pump division introduces a new pump model for North America in 2010.  The K20L “The City Pump with a Boom”.

The fascinating advantage of the K20L unit is the quick and easy detachable boom making this unit a true dual purpose machine.  The unit can be purchased with (boom pump) or without the boom (city pump) which can be added later is the customer desires. The 20L with the boom attached is capable of entering in a 12 foot doorway and unfolding and operating in 11 feet 9 inches. Several CIFA big pump features round this machine out as one to be noticed.

Zoomlion concrete division will introduce the HBT portable trailer pump series to North America. Zoomlion has been manufacturing trailer pumps since 1992 and so far has sold more than 12,500 units all over the world.

All Zoomlion concrete pumps built for the American market integrate common components ensuring customer product support.  The HBT portable trailer line is available in 13 different models starting with the small HBT 40 series, a general use 40 year per hour unit, to the large HBT 110 a high pressure high rise pump. The Zoomlion units are fully hydraulic and are available with either diesel or electric power.  The units feature an intelligent management system that allows the operator to monitor both performance and service intervals. Units come equipped with a dynamoelectric high-low pressure switch touch of the button ease for switching for piston to rod side pressures.

Planned introduction of the full concrete placement product line is set to launch and will go forward in accordance to the market recovery.

Zoomlion Group Finance and Leasing: A Valuable Tool to Support Our Customers

Zoomlion Group, through its brands Zoomlion and CIFA, considers its customers as partners in business and aims to support them by satisfying their needs. During a period of crisis, such a partnership is even more important. With this principle in mind, Zoomlion and CIFA decided to create a leasing option in addition to their traditional product lines.

This new leasing company has opened a branch in Los Angeles CA in late 2009 and will be directly managed to support the Zoomlion and CIFA brands starting its operation within the first half of 2010.

Zoomlion Finance & Leasing has made the term “Captive Equipment Financing” more meaningful than ever given the current economic recession caused by the global financial crisis.

Just some highlights:

• During its first seven months of existence, ZFL realized $72 million USD in new equipment deliveries worldwide and a lease penetration rate of 5% of Zoomlion’s 2007 global sales.
• In 2008, the equipment delivery of ZFL increased to $350 million USD with a lease penetration rate of 20% of Zoomlion’s global sales.
• In 2009 due to the Economic Stimulus Plan of The P.R.C., ZFL realized $1.32 Billion USD in equipment deliveries and a lease penetration rate of 40% of Zoomlion’s global sales, that’s nearly a 400% growth rate from the prior year. ZFL’s programs were able to effectively offset the negative impact of the financial crisis.
• Impressively ZFL was able to achieve this amazing growth without sacrificing its strict risk control management. ZFL has not neglected the possibility of customer insolvency and default and maintains its rigorous control of rental collections and maintains a lease default rate below 4% per year.
