I have a Schwing 39 meter Roll-N-Fold and prime it out like a "A" two up and two down. How the hell do you prime out a "Z" that can't go two up two down? Just Wondering... |

you might need a sponge in before hand if you have more going downhill than up, but it shouldnt make any difference how the boom is... how are you priming and with what?? |

I operate a six stage z fold , to be honest its hit and miss if you use a five inch hose you will have no probs but use a 4" and you risk getting blocked in the reducer , prime slow half flow 1000 rpm gets you to the reducer never blocked in the boom ..... |

I have primed everything from a 28 to a 40z in a "Z." It is all about your previous wash and how clean you got your deck pipe. When I have had a problem it was easily resolved by not jamming the pump when it did plug and simply putting it back into an "A", sucking back a couple of strokes and sending it through. That is with a water only prime. If I ever thought I was going to have a problem or be in a situation like short stick ( by the way great photo) I would slick pack it. |

you can prime out a Z boom when it is in the M configuration. water oil and slick pack is all you need. just go full throttle and volume around 7 and you should be fine. |

I run a 42/5. i just spray about 5 to 10 litres off water up my cylinders while it is changing over then push it through slow never have a drama in any position. One wise old man told me you next job is only as good as your last. |

Hey trey im new to this chat so i hope you get it i have run a 36m Z boom for about 4 years and i prime up in a M if you put everything a about the same angle main up 2nd down 3rd up and fly down about atleast 30 forty feet out you should be fine but i have done it as close as the bumper now when sucking sponge back i have to raise boom almost straight up to get it back |

peewee the only reason you have too lift it straight up too suck back is from leaking rubbers. |

Trey, you can prime a boom in any configuration with a good priming agent or plain ole sac cement or even dirt mixed into mud? |

I've run a Z-fold for 8 years you can prime out in any configuration,at a 3 or higher but you can only suck back sponge in A-frame.Hell 90% of the time I only use water. |
