50,000th STETTER TRUCK MIXER LEAVES THE PRODUCTION LINE IN MEMMINGEN, GERMANY 2005
Stetter truck mixers, a long established manufacturer in Europe, recently celebrated their 50,000th production unit. Stetter truck mixers are available in over 100 countries including the USA. Stetter is a subsidiary of Schwing GmbH, Herne, Germany which manufactures and distributes the mixers through Schwing America, St. Paul, MN. The recipient of the 50,000th unit is Berger Beton GmbH of Passau, Germany an owner of more than 100 Stetters.
Schwing-Stetter mixers for US customers are manufactured in conventional and booster configurations at Schwing America/s 400,000 square foot St.Paul, MN plant. The unique design results in 13-percent lower center of gravity resulting in increased stability. Standards of today’s truck mixers were pioneered by Stetter, including hydraulic drives, optimized drum geometry and more. They are the oldest truck mixer manufacturer still producing for the concrete industry. Schwing and Stetter became one company in 1982.
Other features that have boosted the popularity of the Schwing-Stetter design with American producers are: fast loading charging hopper; in-cab controls, wireless remote control; dual outlet water supply for washout and booster axle with internal accumulator-equipped hydraulic cylinder.
