New 4-Section S 28 X Introduced by Schwing 2007
Schwing has announced a new four-section 28-meter boom pump. The S 28 X replaces the three-section KVM 28 that was once the most popular boom pump in America. “Many of Schwing’s early customers broke into concrete pumping with the KVM 28 of the late 70’s,” explained Brian Hazelton, vice-president of sales and marketing at Schwing’s North American headquarters in White Bear, Minnesota, ”It is a testament to the 28-meter boom size that it is still a valid pump across global markets”
Where the original KVM 28 was a three-section Roll and Fold boom design, the new S 28 X incorporates a 4-section Roll and Fold Z Boom combination. The last three sections are equal length and offer 720 degrees of combined articulation for maximum versatility. A low 19’2” unfolding height adds even more applications to the 28s repertoire.
The new 28 meter boom employs the Vector System with digital proportional joystick controls. The Vector is the only system that offers two-way communications between the pump and the operator. An LED display on the remote box informs the operator of : hydraulic pressure; strokes per minute; hydraulic oil temperature and more. The Vector also stores hourly operating data for the concrete pump, PTO, boom, slewing gear and outriggers. This information can be critical to more accurately track yards per hour for maintenance intervals.
The 2023-4 130/80 SC pump kit is the proven open loop all-hydraulic design offering 151 cubic yards per hour and industry leading fuel efficiency. The fuel savings combine with lowest cost per yard operating costs for higher profits and fast return on investment.
