SCHWING ANNOUNCES FIRST REMOTE CONTROL WITH OPERATIONAL DATA RECEPTION 2001
Schwing America has announced the concrete pumping industries' first radio remote with data reception. Now operators can scroll through operational information on the remote control box including hydraulic oil pressure, hydraulic oil temperature, engine rpm and strokes per minute even when they are operating up to 500-feet from the concrete pump. The LCD readout is highly reflective and adjustable for intensity. This monitoring capability saves time by allowing the operator to review data on the new lightweight, ergonomically designed remote control box without referring to readouts on the machine.
In addition, the remote box notifies operators with messages related to the pump status. If boom functions are interrupted for any reason, messages appear on the remote box to inform operators of the pump status. Lock out features prevent restarting the pump before all switches are in the neutral position.
The new remote control system is being paired with the new CPC2 Controller. This controller allows easy laptop programming of boom calibrations with a user-friendly interface. In addition all operating parameters are displayed on the laptop along with alarm messages and troubleshooting procedures. A standard feature of this system is digital proportional boom controls for smooth, precise operation using two joysticks for ultimate boom control without an array of boom position sensors.
An optional license-free Spread Spectrum radio remote is an exclusive Schwing offering which hops 50 frequencies every minute to provide interference-free operation when working around other radio controlled booms, emergency vehicles, airports, ship-to-shore radios or cellular signals.
A convenient 9.6-volt rechargeable battery commonly used for hand tools powers Schwing's new radio remote. This inexpensive battery provides 12 hours of continuous use on one charge.
