Schwing Introduces New Separate Placing Boom - SPB 37 2007
Schwing has expanded its line of separate placing booms by adding the SPB 37 to its product offering. The new model is of the Generation 2 design providing the lowest weight to reach ratio in its class. The Overhead Roll and Fold ™ boom design, which incorporates four-sections for maximum versatility, provides 120-feet of horizontal reach and covers more than 45,000 square feet from one mounting location.
The Generation 2 advantage is a separate powerpack/hydraulic reservoir that is positioned at the mounting point prior to flying the boom. This allows the SPB 37 boom to enjoy a low 13,100 lb. picking weight. A wide range of mounting options are available including climbing form systems, lattice towers, tubular masts or the newest octagonal masts from Schwing featured on the cover of the Summer 2007 edition of Concrete Pumping Magazine. The self climbing feature of the octagonal system allows the mast and boom to be raised without the help of a tower crane.
In truck-mounted applications, SPB 37 is the placing boom for the S 41 SX which will be available as a detachable boom in 2008. The S 41 SX is the longest detachable boom available on a three-axle truck. Detaching the S 41 SX requires only four pins and nine quick-connect hydraulic hoses. The standard 2023-5 130/80 MPS pumpkit provides 208 cubic yards per hour output and 1007 psi on the concrete. This pumpkit can also be switched to piston side to provide higher pressures when necessary.
