Schwing Restructures Parts Positions 2003

In a move to strengthen their leadership position in parts support, Schwing America has restructured their parts department. Hank Klein, formerly Service Manager for 13 years has now been appointed to Parts Manager. "Anticipating the service needs is very important to parts availability. Hank has the unique ability to provide this insight and draw on the largest spare parts stock in North America," stated Tony Haider, V-P of Customer Service. Klein will oversee the largest staff of concrete parts personnel in the industry. He will also continue in a service role of OEM truck specialist.

"I think it is significant that when other manufacturers are closing or consolidating parts depots we are expanding our branch office parts capabilities," Klein notes. He referenced that the five Schwing branches each carry multi-million dollar inventories in addition to the tens of millions of dollars of spare parts stocked in White Bear. In the first quarter of 2003, Schwing enjoyed 98.7 percent parts availability.

In related Parts Department news, long term employee Tom McAulay has been given the responsibility of forecasting parts needs throughout Schwing America’s branches. He will continue to serve as back-up for the parts ordering team.
